Weapon: Blessed Rosary

Category:
weapon (melee)
Description:
Blessed items can be used to harm certain supernatural creatures that may be immune to mundane weapons. Damage comes from the faith invested in the object rather than from the force of the swing.

To use the Blessed Rosary, make a normal attack roll as you would with a typical unarmed attack, but instead of adding a damage rating as bonus dice, add the item’s blessing rating to your dice pool. If the attack hits, each success inflicts a point of aggravated damage to susceptible creatures. Even though a rosary is not intended for use in combat, it does not suffer the normal -1 penalty that improvised weapons normally do (see p. 136 core rule book). Its power comes from the faith it projects, not from its sturdiness or utility.

Blessing Rating: 3 Dots
Bio:
The Rosary was given to Hammer by an old woman in a sandwich shop during a hunt for an apparition in S1/E1 “Pilot”. She was with a woman who claimed to be her daughter (Annmarie) and told Hammer that her name was Vivian. Vivian appeared to be severely demented and was unable to have a sensical conversation. She did little more than point at Hammer and say, “You take,” as she placed the Rosary in his hand. Annmarie was surprised and said that she had never behaved in that way before.
